Chair for “High-Repetition-Rate Laser-Plasma Acceleration” for Jérôme Faure
Chair for “High-Repetition-Rate Laser-Plasma Acceleration” for Jérôme Faure
The LOA hosts the international research chair “High-Repetition-Rate Laser-Plasma Acceleration”, inaugurated on 29 March 2023 at the Ecole Polytechnique.
Headed by Jérôme Faure of the APPLI group, the chair will develop a laser-plasma accelerator with a high 100-Hz repetition rate and reliability adapted to industrial and societal applications. One of these applications will be an X-ray source based on inverse Compton scattering for non-destructive testing with unprecedented spatial resolution.
The Chair is funded with 2 M€ over 5 years by the Pierre Lamoure Institute, in support of the LAPLACE project of the LOA.
