Congratulations to Amélie on winning ‘My thesis in 180 seconds’ !
We congratulate Amélie Kies, a doctoral student in LOA’s Quantum group, on winning the 1st prize of the Jury in the 2025 edition of the ‘My thesis in 180 seconds’ competition at IP-Paris!
On 2 April 2025, Amélie was one of ten finalists who faced the challenge of presenting, in just 180 seconds and in front of an audience of non-specialists, the subject of their doctoral thesis and conveying the fascination that drives them to devote themselves to it.
Amélie brilliantly rose to that challenge with a clear and captivating presentation of her work on ultra-fast dynamics in NV centers in diamond, aimed at optimising their application for ultra-sensitive measurement of magnetic fields.
We are proud to have her represent our laboratory, and look forward to seeing her defend her thesis with equal brilliance.
