SUMMARY:LOA Seminar: Mackrine Nahra (L2n, Troyes + Institut Néel, Grenoble)
DESCRIPTION:A Bright Source of Single and Indistinguishable Photons\n \nEfficient on-demand single-photon sources are fundamental to the development of photonic quantum technologies. In this work, we demonstrate the generation of single and indistinguishable photons from a self-assembled indium arsenide quantum dot embedded in a gallium arsenide nanopost cavity. This design leads to a pronounced enhancement of spontaneous emission via the Purcell effect, with up to a six-fold increase over a broad spectral range of 30 nm. Using phonon-assisted quasi-resonant pulsed excitation, we measure the intensity autocorrelation function at zero delay to be g(2)(0) = 0.05 ± 0.02, indicating a high level of single-photon purity. We also achieve a two-photon interference visibility greater than 70%, confirming that photons emitted with a 2 ns delay are highly indistinguishable. This approach, with further device improvements, paves the way for a widely tunable source of single and indistinguishable photons.\n \nKeywords\nSemiconductor quantum dots, nanopost cavity, phonon-assisted optical excitation, indistinguishable photons\n
